A High-Energy Bougainvillea Estate Wedding in Coachella Valley | Alyssa and DJ

Alyssa and DJ’s Bougainvillea Estate wedding had exactly the energy you’d hope for from a desert celebration: golden light, dramatic palms, and a party that never slowed down. 

It was held in Indio, right in the heart of Coachella Valley, high energy from the first hour, and it closed out with the entire wedding party in the pool.

Inside the Bougainvillea Estate Wedding Venue

Bougainvillea Estate is a private, five-acre property in Indio, about 25 minutes from Palm Springs, tucked behind stone walls that give the whole event a feeling of seclusion. 

You enter through a wrought iron gate onto a long driveway lined with pepper trees before the property opens up around a one-acre lake and a second iron gate leading to an inner courtyard with a Mediterranean fountain. It’s a rental estate rather than a traditional wedding venue, which means couples get a blank canvas and the freedom to bring in their own vendors instead of working from a set package.

The property can host up to 250 guests, with ten bedrooms on-site for anyone staying the weekend, a pool with a 14-person spa, pickleball courts, and a chef’s kitchen. Most couples treat it as a multi-day celebration rather than a single event day, since it’s one of the few properties in the area you can rent out entirely for the weekend.

Who Bougainvillea Estate Is Right For

This venue tends to draw couples who want privacy over a big hotel ballroom feel, and who want their wedding weekend to include their people, not just their ceremony. 

If you’re picturing a rehearsal dinner, a wedding day, and a pool party with your closest guests all happening on the same property, this is built for exactly that. It also suits couples chasing a specific look: Mediterranean architecture, desert light, and lush greenery against the stone and iron. Alyssa and DJ’s day leaned into all of it, romantic and dramatic in the quieter moments, then loud and celebratory the second the party started.

The Vibe

This wedding was pure, unfiltered high energy from the jump. The bridal party was hyping everyone up before anyone had even put on their formal wear, music was blasting, shots were taken, and people were already dancing. Alyssa and DJ were beaming all day, the kind of visibly, obviously in love that makes a wedding day easy to shoot. You could feel it in every frame.

A Processional Made for the Venue

Bougainvillea Estate’s entrance, that long, pepper-tree-lined driveway leading up to the old iron gate, was wrapped in lush florals for the ceremony, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for Alyssa and DJ’s vows. 

The distance gave the wedding party their moment to shine walking in, but more than that, it gave Alyssa and DJ the space to lock eyes from opposite ends of the aisle and actually take each other in before they said a word. 

It was slow-burning, cinematic drama in the best possible way, the kind of moment you only get when a venue gives you real distance to work with.

Dinner by the Pool

The reception opened with a fully choreographed entrance from the wedding party, which set the tone before dinner even started. From there, it shifted into a candlelit dinner that felt as romantic as it looked. Guests were seated around the pool, and the reflections were incredible, Coachella Valley palm trees and flickering candlelight dancing across the water all night.

The Party & Aftermath

The high energy from the morning came full circle by the end of the night. The dance floor stayed packed, literally not a single person sitting down. 

And to close out one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot in a while, the wedding party jumped straight into the pool.
